We are so excited to share Kat & Chip’s sweet nuptials in Charleston, South Carolina. We had the pleasure of documenting their love for one another alongside the talented crew of Karson Butler Events, KT Merry, and a small crew from TLC’s “Say Yes to The Dress!” Kat was featured on the show for her infamous “unicorn dress.” From the breathtaking Spanish moss lacing the trees, to the rich history of the gorgeous Middleton Place, we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect location for a wedding. This Southern plantation, built in 1755, was destroyed during the Revolutionary War and later suffered a fire during the Civil War – leaving some incredible scattered brick ruins, from where Kat made her entrance. The ceremony site was absolutely gorgeous and sits above a butterfly lake.
Since Chip is a fighter pilot, it was only natural for them to incorporate some special military flair into their day. Checkered details were added to their escort card display and floor plan, as Checkerboards is the name of his squadron. The two of them entered into their reception through a saber arch and proceeded to dance the night away with Cuban cigars to celebrate new beginnings. The night concluded with an epic fireworks show – a sweet surprise from Kat to Chip!
