Kat & Chip'Middleton Place wedding in Charleston, South Carolina will always be one of our favorites. Not because it was held in one of the most charming towns and picturesque venues ever (it was!), included a dream vendor team of KT MerryCharleston Stems and Cru Catering to name a few (they were!),  or because we were able to design an incredible celebration (an outdoor chapel and surprise fireworks!)...It will always be a favorite because of the forever friendships we formed with this incredible couple. They captured our hearts the moment their inquiry came into our inbox and grace us each day with a friendship that reminds us why we decided to become wedding planners. America fell in love with Kat on SYTTD, as did anyone who read their feature in Charleston Weddings Magazine.  To see more images from this incredible Charleston, South Carolina low-country wedding, and to hear their incredible story of meeting, please visit the gallery!

In the meantime, enjoy their incredible film by Josh Gooden:

We are so excited to share Kat & Chip’s sweet nuptials in Charleston, South Carolina. We had the pleasure of documenting their love for one another alongside the talented crew of Karson Butler EventsKT Merry, and a small crew from TLC’s “Say Yes to The Dress!” Kat was featured on the show for her infamous “unicorn dress.”  From the breathtaking Spanish moss lacing the trees, to the rich history of the gorgeous Middleton Place, we couldn’t have imagined a more perfect location for a wedding. This Southern plantation, built in 1755, was destroyed during the Revolutionary War and later suffered a fire during the Civil War – leaving some incredible scattered brick ruins, from where Kat made her entrance. The ceremony site was absolutely gorgeous and sits above a butterfly lake.

Since Chip is a fighter pilot, it was only natural for them to incorporate some special military flair into their day.  Checkered details were added to their escort card display and floor plan, as Checkerboards is the name of his squadron. The two of them entered into their reception through a saber arch and proceeded to dance the night away with Cuban cigars to celebrate new beginnings. The night concluded with an epic fireworks show – a sweet surprise from Kat to Chip!
