The boutonniere bar was one of our favorite projects to date!  Huge thanks to the team at Holly Heider Chapple Flowers & Michele at Meant to Be Calligraphy for their help pulling off this project!  So fun – guests LOVED it and felt special all night!

Out of town guest welcome baskets were inspired by the custom invitation suite from Little Bit Heart.  Danielle LOVES paper!  So fun and playful!

How adorable is our bride Danielle & her sister?!  Looking so sweet sitting on this cute settee from Something Vintage!   And those florals… they were out of this world pretty!   Holly and her team really always find a way to exceed our expectations – AMAZING!

We loved collaborating with A-list florist, Kelly Green on the design.  (Kelly’s talents are used at The White House, so we knew we were in for a treat!) Together, we transformed the Sperry tent in a sea of soft pinks, creams, and greens . Upon entering the tent, guests enjoyed sipping on Keswick wines and nibbled on a personalized cheese and cracker display which served as the place cards.  20 South Catering served a delicious family style meal and the cake from Mahlia Creations was a highlight of the dessert display gazebo.

Happy Cinco de Mayo – one of our favorite days of the year!  To celebrate, we’re sharing Teresa & Dave’s California fiesta inspired welcome reception at the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort with you today!

Upon arrival, guests were welcomed with festive sangria and mini margarita shooters and dined on a menu of street tacos, freshly prepared guacamole, churros and flan!

We worked with the amazing Studio Fiore on succulent arrangements and La Tavola Fine Linen for the fun cocktail-style seating decor.

We wish you all a very happy Cinco de Mayo today full of margaritas (on the rocks, with salt, of course!)

We worked with Edge Floral to design an elegant wedding with equestrian touches.  We strategically played up the “theme” a little more during cocktail hour. Inspired by the wood tones in the John Hay room, the cocktail area color palette included cocoa browns, leather and rose gold. A wood table in the center of the room held the bride’s collection of saddles with riding boots, beeswax candles and apples to add interest to the food stations.

 The highlight of the design was a large focal escort card display. We created custom horse show award ribbons from Hodges Badge Company. Riding and showing her entire life, our bride loved that we suggested using REAL show ribbons (anything too crafty wouldn’t have pulled off the same look or impressed the crowd!) Huge thanks to the team at Hodges for their help with this custom project. We used the couples new monogram in the center of the rosette button and listed their names and wedding date on the center streamer in gold foil. We asked Michele from Meant to Be Calligraphy to add the guest names and table assignments to personalize each ribbon (thanks for always being up for our challenges Michele!)

The show ribbons were pinned to a huge satin ribbon backdrop which was framed in leather.  Boxwood hedges in white planters were placed on each side of the board to resemble what you might see at a show. Check out our video to see a time-lapse of the board’s creation (ribbon board set-up starts around 2 minutes in!)  If you look closely, you’ll also see the bride’s bouquet wrapped in leather, a detail we adored!

Upstairs at the Top of the Hay for dinner, we kept the color palette light and classic. To continue the equestrian theme, each of the tables were named after a different horse show.

Loved this Kendall’s Cakes wedding cake to match the bride’s dress!

The lucky date finally arrived, and last night our friends at Charm City Cakes invited us to attend their preview party, which is like an art gallery / fashion show opening all wrapped up into one super amazing event.   Instead of oohing and awwing over art and clothes though, we’re looking at the most beautiful cakes masterpieces.
