Today we're taking a closer look at our favorite design elements from one of our incredible weddings last season. Our couple wanted a clean, contemporary and sophisticated look for their wedding celebration at The Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, DC. Photos shared by the talented Jodi & Kurt with Jodi Miller Photography.

Corcoran Gallery of ArtCustom table bases were painted a steely gray and topped with mirrored glass to reflect candlelight. Amaryllis dazzled us with their sleek designs with an emphasize on plants, succulents and orchids. Amazing as always!

Mary Margaret & Greg - November 23rd, 2013; Corcoran Gallery of ArtLaura Hooper Calligraphy accepted our challenge to personalize EACH and EVERY guest chair and the end result was phenomenal. Kudos to Emily who came up with this idea- this might be my very favorite design detail ever!  In DC, we often only get a venue two hours before guest arrival, and the accomplishment that went into matching the right chairs to the right table in a very short amount of time was exceptional.  What an incredible alternative to the place card. The project was a design and organizational masterpiece fit for a gallery - dramatic and lovely and just plain amazing to see the guests come downstairs to find their seats.

No secret here - we LOVE a great escort card display board. This art piece fit right in at the gallery!

Our friends at The Dandelion Patch and Smock Letterpress wowed us with a custom letterpress suite. The folio sleeve was inspired from the Louis Vuitton stripe, and the invitation suite emphasized key words to the couple. Vintage travel-themed stamps in the invitation's hues finished the look.

We created a lounge-like environment for both the cocktail hour and reception where guests could order drinks tableside vs. standing in lines at the bar. Custom silk bar menus from Lux Bindery held signature drink menus and were placed in our lounge areas. Cocktail waitresses took orders as guests lounged in comfortable seating - like these incredible chairs from Amaryllis and couches from AFR.

Saks Jandel dressed our bride and she looked radiant!!  We suggested a floral cuff bouquet alternative and she loved this idea! So chic and modern!
